The future of the Prius

No more sneaking up on people in the parking lot and waiting for them to realize that you are indeed behind them.

This week in Philly

Another interesting week on the east coast.  I worked like crazy this past week and continue to work like crazy.  We did a lot of walking and had some guests.  We finally had guests over for dinner for the first time.  Does this mean our house is ready?  Not really, but it’s getting closer.

Last week we went to the Art Museum area and this week we went again.  This time we went at night.  I got a few good shots, but my view of the city was partially blocked by a showing of a movie on the steps of the museum.  Guess what movie they were showing.  You guessed it… Rocky.

Other than that, it’s been a normal week.  Today we finally ate at Bobby’s Burger Palace.  It’s a burger place opened by Chef Bobby Flay.  I would say it was a good burger but for the price, I was expecting a bigger burger.

This coming up week won’t be any different.  A lot of work and more work.  I’m hoping to have to make the other room to have some semblance of an office.  We will see.  Here are some photos taken this week:

Cross country gas expense

Just did a quick calculation of all the gas we spent going cross country.  After traveling almost 3100 miles in our little Prius, we spent about $163.76.  Not bad.  Of course, this doesn’t include money spent on food and lodging, but pretty good.  Not doing another cross country road trip anytime soon.

Go Anteaters!

My friend sent me a link to a photo of Leonardo Dicaprio wearing a UCI (University of California, Irvine) hat. I’m proud to be an Anteater.

Here’s the originally link.

The weather report

91 feels like 95Just curious.  So… it’s 91, but it feels like 95.  How do they measure the feel?  I wonder if someone takes the temperature with a thermometer, then goes outside to see if it feels more than what the readout says.  Just wondering.

This week in Philly

We officially moved to Philadelphia August 3rd.  Our place is finally beginning to look like a place to live in.  The best news is that the weather has been cool the past couple of days after a week of scorching temperatures.  The top floor of our apartment was just unusable because it was too hot.  We finally did get a portable AC last week.  This week, we finally setup our bed frame, TV, and a bunch of other things.

Today, was a more eventful day.  We finally went to Reading Terminal Market where they had annual Dutch Festival.  Later on, we entertained some out of town visitors by eating cheesesteaks and went to the Art Museum area.  This is the same area where Rocky ran up.

Here are some pictures from today:

This week in Philly

One week in Philly…. humid, hot, sudden thunder storms, pot holes… I’m ready to go home.  Don’t worry, I’m coming back.  Just going back to California to ship the rest of my stuff here.  One thing that I realize from being here is that it is possible to live outside of California and it’s not that bad.  I actually enjoy the city and it’s good to be put in a different situation than I’m in now.  Another busy week of moving out and next week will be the official moving in.

12 Days and 14 States

We finally have arrived in Philadelphia. We drove over 3100 miles, through 14 states. I can’t believe we made it.

Despite it being a great experience, I think this will be the last cross-country road trip in a long time. It just takes too much out you. I have no regrets though. On the way, we go to see so many people that we haven’t seen in a while, got to meet new people, and just see America.

Road Trip Day 11 – Last day before Philly

Today, we went to the meeting in Columbus, OH.  This is our second time here.  Most of the saints were at the college training, but it was still a sweet meeting.  Today was just a relaxing day… fellowship, board games, the usual in the church life.  Tonight we went to Graeter’s for some ice cream.  Very good ice cream.  It just so happened that it was the Graeter’s 140th birthday.  That means, two scoops for the price of one.  The only problem was this… Here’s how I ordered…. I like a double scoop… Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip… then he goes to scoop up the ice cream.  I expect him to come back and ask me what I wanted the next scoop to be.  Then he says, “here you go” and hands me a double scoop of Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip.  It was good, but that was a lot of one flavor.

I can’t believe tomorrow we are finally arriving.  I don’t think the fact that we are moving to Philly has hit us yet because we are flying back in a week to ship the rest of our stuff, but it’s just the fact that we are almost done with our cross country journey.  I will say that we aren’t taking a long road trip like this for a very long time.  It just takes too much out of you.  Sorry, no pictures today, but tomorrow we should have more.  We should be stopping by the Hershey Factory tomorrow.  I’ll do a wrap up of my entire trip later this week.
