{"id":665,"date":"2009-03-25T01:08:20","date_gmt":"2009-03-25T08:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patrickchang.com\/blog\/?p=665"},"modified":"2009-03-25T01:08:20","modified_gmt":"2009-03-25T08:08:20","slug":"canon-eos-rebel-t1i-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patrickchang.com\/blog\/2009\/03\/canon-eos-rebel-t1i-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Canon EOS Rebel T1i announced!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After I wrote the blog post about downloading the podcast about the Canon EOS Rebel T1i, I posted an entry on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\" target=\"_blank\">dpreview.com<\/a> forum asking if anyone had seen it.\u00a0 No one had seen it, so I posted a link to the blog post and I saw a definite spike in traffic.\u00a0 Later on that night I see a blog entry from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2009\/03\/24\/canons-eos-rebel-t1i-DSLR-leaked\/\" target=\"_blank\">Engadget <\/a>with the same screenshot that I took from the video.\u00a0 They had a link to my original forum post from dpreview.com.\u00a0 I check back about a hour later and all over the internet, Canon announces the camera.\u00a0 After they did, all the sites started posting their initial reviews of the camera.\u00a0 There was probably an embargo on mentioning the camera until their scheduled event.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure my mentioning of the CNET podcast was the reason why Canon announced it earlier, but I like to think so.\u00a0 All I have to say is&#8230; sorry CNET.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the video that I downloaded yesterday at around 4pm yesterday:<br \/>\n<object width=\"364\" height=\"280\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.cnet.com\/av\/video\/flv\/universalPlayer\/universalSmall.swf\" \/><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\" \/><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"FlashVars\" value=\"playerType=embedded&#038;type=id&#038;value=50005555\" \/><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.cnet.com\/av\/video\/flv\/universalPlayer\/universalSmall.swf\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" width=\"364\" height=\"280\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" FlashVars=\"playerType=embedded&#038;type=id&#038;value=50005555\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t upload the video to my site yesterday because I don&#8217;t have the bandwidth to host it.
